The Swoop Suit is an FS suit that is named after swooping (during freefall, not under canopy). This is the action of a skydiver swooping (diving) down and braking at the appropriate altitude.

The Swoop Suit is our most versatile RW suit because of all the options to adjust the fall-rate. With one suit, it is possible to change the fall rate from a fast fall, with spandex forearms and a disengaged swoop cord; to a slow fall, with slip on sleeves and an engaged swoop cord. It is not necessary to get spandex sleeves and slip on's if a slower fall rate is intended.

Standard Options
  • Front and Sides of suit: most commonly 4-Ply. Can be substituted at no cost with Supplex or Slick Nylon. More information on Fabrics & Materials.
  • Back of suit : Spandex
  • Forearms: most commonly 4-Ply.Can be substituted at no cost with Supplex. Substitute with Spandex for less drag.
  • Open Leg (no cuffs or booties)
  • Small or Medium Arm Grips, 4-Ply or Supplex.
  • Large Pocket, inside chest. Reaches from center zipper to side seam, can easily fit a cellphone.
  • Small Pocket, left bicep. Can hold earplugs, tic tacs, etc.
  • Standard collar.
DOUBLE LAYER DRAG REINFORCING

If you need to slow your fall rate, we offer 2 levels of drag. Available either only on the legs, or both arms & legs.

Level 1. Double layer of 10 oz. brushed cotton lining.

Level 2. Double layer of 10 oz. brushed cotton lining PLUS a 1.5 oz. zero-porous (ZP) material sandwiched between the lining.

regular swoop cords

Swoop Cords effectively enhance breaking by creating a rigid wing. These cords loop over the hands and run along the inner seam of the suit to the waist. The swoop cords are tightened with full arm extension (upon braking), creating an instant wing only when you need it.

continuous swoop cords

To avoid this wing being engaged when reaching for a grip, we offer the "continuous swoop cord" which is one continuous line that reaches down one side, across the back at the hip, and up to the other side.

how to wear them

There are two styles of loops that can be adjusted -pre flight- to either position, by sliding the loop down the cord.

The Rule: last thing on, 1st thing off. If you need to take them off in an emergency, you want it to be on top of your gloves and altimeter.
